Which Kindergarten Do Your Kids Go To?

This is the nursery my daughters attend: ABC Nursery (@abcnurseryphuket).
They’re 4, 5, and 6. Yes, very close in age. Yes, it was intense. Now it’s easier. But for a while? Pure chaos.

When we got stuck in Phuket two and a half years ago, there were no schools open, no frameworks. I truly thought I was losing it. I was sure my immune system would collapse—because that’s how it starts: the mind goes, the body follows.

So when Thai schools reopened in mid-2020, even partially, I enrolled them here. And we fell in love.

Lesley, the nursery manager, opened the school 15 years ago for her own son. She’s British, studied ballet, lived in New York and Bali, and eventually opened two schools in Phuket. (More on the second one later.)

ABC follows the British early years curriculum—not that it matters much at this age, but what they learn is actually amazing.
A few examples:

  • Music & rhythm via Peter and the Wolf: Each instrument, each animal, each sound—beautifully told.
  • Time & meaning through Peter Pan
  • Nature & the wild through The Jungle Book
  • Most recently: space, water, and environmental awareness (yes, including plastic use).

Located in Rawai, ABC is for ages 18 months to 7 years (up to Year 2 / first grade).
Note: They do not provide a guardian visa.

Cost:

  • From 700 NIS/month (3 days/week, 4 hours/day)
  • Up to 2,000 NIS/month for full-day Year 1 (6.5 hours/day)
  • Fewer holidays than most nurseries—about 205 school days/year
