What’s Worth Seeing in Phuket Town? (Part 1)
Phuket Town — center-east on the island — is a mash-up of history, graffiti, cafés, retro vibes, and random discoveries.
It’s colorful. It’s quirky. It’s always changing.
So I grabbed my keys, my phone, and hit the road.
Phuket Town motto?
You know where you start. You never know where you’ll end up.
Wander
Park wherever. Step inside whatever pulls you.
Go upstairs. Order something that looks good.
Touch everything. Buy something you don’t need.
Drink something neon. Regret it later. That’s the energy.
Coffee Stop: Bo(k)khemian @bookhemian
It’s a mix of a vintage library and your cool friend’s teenage bedroom.
Books, vinyl, big chairs, and coconut coffee that makes you pause mid-sip.
(Top 5 coffee shop reel coming. Yes, I owe you that.)
Rang Hill Viewpoint
10 minutes up the road.
15 minutes of fresh air, a few solid photos, and maybe a monkey fight if you’re lucky.
Grab a coffee at the top — if it’s open. No promises.
Thai Hua Museum
We tried to go straight there…
But there were four more coffee stops. A city library. An art gallery we didn’t get, but admired anyway.
A pancake place with a Michelin sticker. And three dessert shops we “accidentally” bookmarked.
Eventually — yes, eventually — we made it to the museum.
Worth it?
For the shade alone, yes.
But also, you’ll learn how Phuket became a trade hub thanks to Chinese migration — and why half of this island’s best stories start there.
Entry:
• 120 Baht for locals
• 200 Baht for tourists
• 20 minutes max, then back out to melt in the sun
Jui Tui Temple
Free. Quiet. Grounding.
Dress modestly — or wrap yourself in a designer scarf and call it a spiritual statement.
Shake the fortune stick box. See what fate thinks of your trip.
Lunch
We aimed for @onechun_phuket.
So did everyone else.
Plan B?
@therayarestaurant — next door, great food, no air-con, almost local prices. Worth it.
5. Karon Viewpoint
Quick stop on the drive from Rawai to Karon.
You’ll see three beaches stacked in perfect view: Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon.
Want to avoid the crowds? There’s a turnoff just before the main viewpoint with a quieter path.
Skip the monkeys and souvenir hawkers — take a walk instead.
